what are ya trying to say emz....lmao....i am preparing for the famine....i just realised i had toes today...saw them for the for the first time.....anyway its not a belly...altough bellys definatly got me....its a love cushion !!!!! i will keep telling myself that
I have just come back from an excellent rally, with a group of bikers which I have met through this site. It shows the site is working I came on here to meet friends,, But this is just the sort off thread that is really put the nail in the coffin for me staying as fully paid member. I don’t want to read pages of dribble, like this. (In fact haven’t read most of it,,, just skimmed it, what a load of rubbish. I want lively debates, discussions about bikes, and biking, entertaining treads, not pages of whinny. A forum is somewhere people debate topics, not everyone has the same views and ideas, that’s real life, deal with it, if you don’t like what someone posts, just ignore it, and don’t take it personnel, Its got to he point I have given up posting most of the time,,,, I am not paying £4 a month for this sort rubbish, and in my opinion that what this thread is,,,,, and Yes I am have the right to say that, it 6 pages of utter C***. If you are not happy about the way things are, make positive posts, about how to improve things, like getting Chat used more, ,, how to get more competitions Help Matt get things moving, and find a way to pull more people in and not drive them away,
Right... as a lot of the original post has been made because of us 'new people'...as a 'new person' I would like to respond. IF that is going round in circles, then I apologise.
I too have just spent a wet, cold weekend with Bikers...and had a great time. I spent ages driving home, unpacking etc, came online, checked emails and Facebook then thought I'd drop by BM to see what the chat is (I seem to remember a very funny post going on last week before I went away)...
Imagine my dismay, that the first post I read is this one. People have complained about 'veiled comments' etc, yet more than one of these posts contain them.
As a Vice President of a club, I have enough sh*te to deal with 'out there in the real world'... and for those who missed what initially happened to prompt this outburst, I shall tell you briefly.
I originally posted on the rally thread as i asked why children were not allowed and cars had to get 'special permission'. I received a reply that was quite erm forthright in its approach. Again I replied, and as part of my 'jokey' (which apparently is misread as sarcasm) reply, trying to diffuse a situation, i used a term IN ALL INNOCENCE. From that moment to this I have been accused of 'disprespecting' and everything else. Other people have been quick to judge and quick to jump on the bandwagon, because the member I apparently disrespected is an 'old face' on this forum. I withstood it, and not once afterwards entered into any contentious debates, other than to back up Ian over a small issue.
I can't remember who implied that we would all be ok "once we found a man"... but as I already have one, that comment was unecessary.
For the last time. I at no time disrespected another person's beliefs. Those who know me, know I would not. An innocent comment was seized on and used as a tool to throw dummies out of prams. I will not sit here and read about trolls, and trouble making, frustrated women without having a say.
I will shut up now, and leave you with this: That when I was offended by a recent post that was clearly taking the p*ss out of a certain religion, I reported it, but was told that as long as it didn't offend the original poster, then I should shut up. One rule for one it would seem (and yes, Matt and I have had this conversation already)
If you don't want this forum to change, then block new members, stop free access, and all chat amongst yourselves, because new means new ideas, new thoughts.
cissystar650, :-) wow, you sured did type a lot.... Phew, got to go an lay down after reading that lot... hehe,
What do I want from this site, to make new member more welcome, and encourage them to stay,,,,

I agree with everything you've said cissy but I think Matt has made it quite clear that if us 'newbies' don't like things the way they are we can go elsewhere!

Absolutely Ric and we're all still here so it must be the people. When you're sat on your bill it's great to pick up the computer and have something different to talk about whether it's a debate, technical issue or utter bollocks......wheres Ian lol
"I'm not the middle-man for moderator emails though.... just ask them yourself (they don't bite much. Well, frag does. lol ;)" Matt
Yeah your next on my list GRRRRRRRRRRR!
I would like people to read the rules and stick to them, it would make my job a lot less time consuming and therefore leave me more time to use the site as a member not a moderator.
I would like people to mellow out and let bygones be bygones.
I would like to see more new discussion posts, and varied, valid and repsectful posts in reply.
Will leave it at that for the moment
cissy did not realise anybody else had commented on that post i thought it was offensive and after previous posts being deleted because of being anti a religion [allegedly] it should have been deleted. the next time i loooked the thread had been deleted there was a diatribe in response to one of your posts that was agressive and presumed knowledge you could not have as a new member, in my opinion if that post had been moderated properly this post would not be being written and the sniping would not be hapening. the lenght of time on bm or who you are friendly with should not be indicitive of the truth. in answer to what i would like to see in the forums a healthy debate sometimes contentious not heavily censored but most importantly not becoming pesonal. here endeth the sermon
nah, its a joke, which Matt will understand and laugh about. If I am growling then I cant be biting
Those who have taken the time to get to know me, know that my bark is worse than the bite.
I deal with rowdy kids as part of my job, I don't tolerate it in work and I get peeved when I have to deal with it online. I dont tolerate fools at all, never mind gladly and that comes across when necessary, at other times I can be very diplomatic.
Punkdude, we moderators try our best, but we have a lot of work on this site and cannot check everything as most, if not all, of us do have full time jobs, families, and other outside commitments. We do request that if someone finds a post offensive, or inappropriate, that they send us an email and we will do our best to sort it out as soon as we can. Yes, things can and have got out of hand, but sometimes a heated discussion can be a storm in a teacup and it sorts itself out in a few posts. Other times, people start taking sides and then it gets out of hand, and before you know it, we have to start deleting posts/threads and people think they are being victimised. These types of people usually will then take that attitude across the forum boards and it takes a lot of feather smoothing to sort out. Its a tough call whether to leave alone and see what happens or intervene, and sometimes we judge it wrong. Hope that kinda explains things.
