two folk have said i would manage okay, but might get tugged for having a caravan despite its size. a third person said the caravan route is well sign posted - alas i do not know where it is!! i think it may be just a bit further south.

i have a trike and will be towing a wee caravan...hence my reservation!

Hi Dumfriesdik.....just looked up the route on a caravan Q&A's for you. Here's two suggested routes: 1. Across to A19, then A174, A172 to Stokesley & then B1257 direct to Helmsley 2. Across to A19, South until just past Thirsk & follow the caravan route avoiding Sutton Bank through Coxwold, Wass & Ampleforth Tried to find the route on google but have to go out shopping.......hope this helps. Linda.

Hi Jackie....it was my first rally last year and i was impressed with the facilities. There were even showers available at a cost. The thing i missed though was running warm water as the porta loos have this handwash which i found to be a bit useless, although there are taps around the fields with fresh cold water and if you take a kettle your're sorted. Not sure about hairdrying facilities, maybe others on here might be able to help you with that. Best advice is shower and do your hair before you go .....then use wet wipes throughout the weekend, oh and make sure you take some toilet tissue just in case they run out You could always go on the farmyard info site to see if there's any new facilities this year. See you there. Linda. ps I'm packing a face cloth, soap and small towel this year as my skin felt lousy and my hands really grubby after using wet wipes all weekend.

20 litre solar showers are great for washing,,,cost about £5 and get to a warm temperature for washing hands and face,,,one fill will last all wkend unless of course you have a full shower,,,,available from most good camping outlets,,,,,better than wet wipes !!!!

I've got one of the solar showers, took it camping a few times and depending ont weather, can get up to 45degs!! hot hot hot! lol
Craig.. Sumo had one at Emzeds camping weekend..and he used a full shower in one go, cos he was loving it tooo much .. naked anorl! Jackie if your desperate, I think they have a 'hair straightener/hair dryer' mobile station near the arrivals point. I straighten mine on the Friday morning..and wear a hat rest of the weekend!

Or you could do as I have Kaz ... 12Volt hair drier & straighteners then all you need is a ciggy lighter fitted to the bike.

Think PP took 100 pics the 1st year I went of me washing my hair before I would put it in my helmet to leave
