cant believe it no new post in 30 minutes ? i always try and sit on the front strap when i had my oxfords , i had to move them forward to keep my rear indicators visible as i chucked the standards for smaller type , but deffo secure them as safe as possible , the vmax petrol cap is under the seat and a hassle to get to if too tied up .

Moon, Friday is a bad day to be trying to conduct business, most folk think it's a holiday day, I know I used to when I worked in an office, it made me jump if the phone rang lol Have you tried a different insurance company, like ebike? They deal on the net only, maybe they could cover your bike for you, do they do short term cover, so that you arent bound to them for a year?

Its not for me but for Cataraptor he already holds a policy with Swinton ( He has put a post on about their bad service a few weeks ago) he has had loads of problems getting the paperwork and correct details sorted. Now he wants to change his bike he has bought a new one tonight after work but now cant get it insured because of the weekend. He has to go home back to Hemel, a 100 mile trip but they will not amend his insurance until monday. He only test rode the bike tonight. Tut Tut to Swinton! Thanks for the recommendations he will need these when renewal time comes.x

I agree with Julie on this one Moonstone, I have been with Footman James for a few years now and found their renewal quotes so good that I've never bothered doing the 'shopping around' thing.

Thanks a lot Julie and BB955i Footman James certainly will be checked out when the renewal time comes. we are hoping the bike shop in Stratford Upon Avon will cover him on the test ride insurance cover so he can get home legally then sort out Swinton and their mess once again on Monday if not he is stuck here meaning he will have to take an extra days leave. I dont mind though LOL He may even have to ride my 125 home

Weary weary... it's been a LONG day... I've turned my damned house upside down since 5 this morning, searching for my drivers licence, but to no avail.

Just hoping that it's in the back of the car... unlikely as I never carry it around these days & always use my passport for ID requirements if needed, but it's worth a look. Otherwise I'll get failure to produce added to my list of evil doings

Ho hum... Too weary to rant, just take it as read

Don't know if Churchill does bike insurance, but they just saved me £130 a year and had the certificate ready for me to collect from their offices within 2 hours of calling them this morning. *impressed*

Lmao at kwak , the vmax has 2 levers behind and beneath the seat that you pull to release the back portion of the seat to get to the fuel cap , no way you can sit on and fill-up even if you had petrol pump attendants here like we did in sa .lol I'm with footman james as their quote for bike and car bettered others by about 200 quid for me.

Wannabe, keep searching for the licence there is a further cost to getting a duplicate. My licence says duplicate on it and as a result I stopped carrying it. If you do get pulled for anything the first thing Plod says on seeing duplicate is "Drink driving was it sir?" They will never believe my licence is a duplicate because I lost the bit of paper, and proceed to give me a free MOT and a breath test.

I still can't find my V5. The DVLA must not have sent it back to me after I told them about my change of address. I aint paying £25 for a replacement I'd sooner give the bloody bike to a museum than pay out more money. Not that I've got it, I have trouble finding 25p these days. *whinge whinge yadda yadda Ariston and on and on*

Sandi @ 01/08/2009 14:42

Sounds about par for the course Prof! I have until Wednesday to find it... if I can't, then I've got to apply to DVLA for a replacement, receive it, then submit THAT one (late) to the Police for them to send back to DVLA for the endorsement!

Only in America "Pah" when an organisation puts its self up fpr a fall like that I'm afraid someone is bound to test it's resolve by going to court on an action like this! A Judge should kick it out! Siting normal conditions are effected by the current ecconomic climate!

Stupid creditors.

How exactly is refusing my offer of payments (only made possible by my borrowing further money from family and friends) and sending my account out to a debt collection agency going to help?

It doesn't change the material facts. i.e. There is no money, there is no income, I am unable to pay the whole balance in one go.

Do they imagine that when the debt collectors contact me I'll suddenly remember I've got a whole pile of money hidden under the mattress? Sheesh!

It's no wonder people give up and declare themselves bankrupt to avoid paying a single penny back! No way am I losing my house over a few quid though. They'll just have to whistle for it and put up with what I'm offering them.

And look at the time! Another wasted day, spent talking to eejits and getting nowhere.

I would've been better served working on my website or listing stuff on ebay so I can actually raise some bloody money to pay said eejits.

*screams*

*and breathes*

Ooooh that's better...
