The Yorkshire Pudding Rally 2 – 4 August 2013
We would have liked to go back to Chapeltown near Sheffield again as it works so well, at the moment this is doubtful as it seems the land next to it may be turned into a reclamation site. The Hesley Wood Scout Camp has been approached to rent the long field that we use to hold the Pudding Rally on to become the processing site for the reclamation factory. This will cut the amount of land by two thirds and this will not be big enough for us, if anything we could do with a site that’s a bit larger not smaller.
So rest assured we are looking at all our options and this includes talking to the Scout centre and Sheffield council who are also looking for land. We are looking to speak to local farmers see if we can find something close by.
We will keep you informed as to our progress on Facebook and on this website; also if you subscribe to our newsletter on the homepage we will send you an email as soon as we know any details at all.
Whilst we have been aware this could happen with Hesley Wood we have been waiting on the planning, unfortunately this has been delayed due to many objections from the local residents, the residents lost their appeal in the 2nd week of January 2013. Whilst we secretly hoped that the planning application would fail and we could carry on as normal, we find it hard to blame the Scout centre because the land that we hold our rally on will be a lot more usable for them in a few years time when the reclamation is finished and in these days of financial hardship Hesley Wood had to take what is a golden opportunity offered by the reclamation company.
