TAT2DVEGAN
that was one intresting post you put there
wow what responses you got. lol
yes i agree life is full of loonies both in real life and behind the keyboard ( I dont think I am one of those as i have been spotted by some of these guys) unless they call me a loon lol
come to a meet and see some insany biking people
Blueboy: I think the beauty of a site like this is it has such an eclectic mixture of people all of whom have their own thoughts and opinions. The common denominator is the fact that we all love bikes and want to socialise more, which can't be knocked at all.
Blue you forgot to mention that we have differences of opinion but we don't (usually) fall out over it.
We are quite a tight knit (oo knitting yea yea, I digress lol) community on here and tend to support each other. Like it says in my profile...biker match is 'the friendliest biker social site on the net' and we like to keep it that way.
I'm glad the misunderstanding was sorted out
Hope you dodn't take my (pedentry) comments too seriously EarthWind. I'll ride with you anytime, and try to not lose you. At TVAM we have a system for having social runs where everyone can go at their own pace, but also not get lost. :-)
Tat2dVegan, with all your experiences, can I have the recipy for boiling bunnies? (assume this refers to Fatal Attraction film, which I've not actually seen?) Actually I've met a few really nice partners through online dating, and am still friends & in touch with most of them, so keep trying.
Well MollyF, with a site name like BikerMatch there is a certain likelyhood that it's a dating site. But unlike Match.com, DatingDirect.co, etc, BM does have a social side, especially as the "seeking" option allows for "Nobody" and "Friends", so I guess BM website is whatever you want it to be.
I didn't think us bikers had any brains TangMan60, so engaging them could be difficult. :-) As Kwak says, glad all the misunderstandings have been sorted out.
Have heard so many similar horror stories but I`d like to think that internet dating can work. I think that unfortunately the very nature of the site will attract "weirdo`s" and my theory is that there are, unfortunately, many men out there who prey on a womans vulnerability. Be careful about what you tell relative strangers online. I think if a woman is going thru a bit of a rough time its so easy to be taken in by a sympathetic ear and a few appropriately placed kind words.
Before I have an army of men jumping down my neck I`m not in any way saying that the above is true of all men... just the odd one or two who prey on chatrooms and dating sites.
As I say i`d like to think it`d work and I wouldn`t have a problem in meeting someone one to one as long as the first date was in a public place. To add to all the excellent advice given already i`d also say always trust your instinct, after all it has got you this far in life already. Also take your time to get to know someone and don't be rushed. A patient person will be happy to wait until you are ready to meet.
its not just loonies and bunny boilers tha you meet online. its also the ones looking for a passport into the country. I keep getting interesting hits by women from russia. thats a thought. I wonder if I can start chatting to someone in oz. weather so much better
