Had the pleasure of working in bike shops during the late 70's and 80's and got to ride most of the now desirable classics Guzzi Lemans, Ducati Desmos and Laverda Jotas, oh and the dubious pleasure of being a Hesketh test rider when the Daventry factory ran out of parts
First bike when I was 18-Yamaha RS100 for 3 years Honda CB125RS for 2 yrs then passed test Yamaha XS250 bigger engine then fitted to be XS400-too slow after a couple more years Kawasaki Z750L2 for 8 happy years plus a Honda XL250S for green laning too Following an slight mishap & a 12yr gap Kawasaki GPz750A3 for 3 1/2 years now
Oh yeah,& a Lifan LF100 chinese C90 ripoff-but its cheap to run in crap weather!
Couple of superdreams, a totally crap CB450, Suzuki 600 t pot, 600 then 750 gixer, RF900 (hideous to look at but genuine 160 mph), SV, 2 blades oh and an RD350 I blew up coming back form the Bol d'Or one year long ago keeping up with mates on 750s. Got and RD 250 genuine with coffin tank in the garage too for restoration one long day. Now as to future bikes............
Borrowed sisters Nifty Fifty and a mates Triumph Tiger Cub til I could afford my own at 18 then Honda CB250, BSA 650 Super Rocket, Triumph 650TR6, Honda 750F1 in 1975 (my 21st birthday pressie to me) then gap for 5 years and a box of bits that turned into a Honda CB125J then a long gap followed by a Yamaha 650 Dragstar and now I've got a Harley 1200 Sportster Sport and just to relive old memories am rebuilding a BSA A10 Golden Flash.
