thinking about a camping w,end / paintballing day
there is a paintball jobey at aspatria (NW cumbria) but not found biker friendly pub local to it yet ]
there is one at kirkbride about 15 miles away
any intrest ???
I think I can speak for everyone that attended the Roaches camping weekend, that a re-visit to The Winking Man is a must.
The pub puts on a rock night every Friday and the night we went, there was a band playing called The Misterons. They were superb and the disco well and truely rocked.
I have checked out the web site for The Winking Man and they offer free camping. The place is so remote, a stop over is a must I think.
I would really like to re-visit this place and I am aware that just now it is far to cold to camp....but could we consider it for a future event. I for one would really love to share the experience, I know you wouldn't be disappointed.
I'm fairly new to the site, and I've seen lots of posts\topics about ride-outs, rallies and other events, but not any about a BM members rally. Is that something that would be of interest to anyone, or has it been tried already? I guess something like BL's idea, and get a load of BM members there and make a weekend of it. It'd be a good opportunity to meet other members and put faces to the names...

Sharky I posted a couple of weeks ago about a pub I went to on the Yorkshire Dales/ Lancashire/ Tough of Bowland border. The landlord is a biker and he is really keen to have a bike rally there. There are 2 fields next to the pub we could use, and a room in the pub we could use for a disco or maybe even a band.....
I guess I haven't progressed this cos I am a lazy cow and a bit reluctant to take responsibility, cos I've observed what hard work it is organising a rally. But I'm happy to liaise and be involved.....
But I claim diplomatic immunity lol
Minnie, I can't find that thread anywhere, but that was the kinda thing I was thinking of. A pub, somewhere to pitch a tent and an opportunity for us all to get together and meet up. Wouldn't fancy trying to organise it myself either though. I've been to a couple of these with another website a few years ago, and it's good to actually meet the people we talk to on the forums and in chat. Hence raising the question in the first place, but I guess different people want different things BJ. I wouldn't know where to start though. Personally speaking, I only need the basics....a bar, my tent and 24hr toilets. Beyond that you're in realms of entertainment, traders and food vans and things get complicated. If BM was to put on a rally, I'd be there for sure, but I guess that's dependent on an awful lot of factors. It'd be interesting to see what other members think of the idea though.
Was thinking of a weekend do in the mids if anybody is interested ?
I know that folk say why is everythink in the mids but thats where we live and cant arrange stuff in othere areas.
BJ and I have a few ideas on the back burner as thay say but wont start on them untill we have an idea as to interest and numbers.
Fair do's JP, got to go with your local area, it's who you know that can get what you need.
I'm keen to get out a lot more this year, and for medical reasons, I tend to shy away from large rallies. Once the details are posted, it's extremely likely I'll be on the list

Being a yam yam means if it was in the midlands would be easy for me to get to - wouldn't it be grey peas and bacon or faggotts and peas round here???? and pub skittles??? lol
would be more than happy to travel wherever though to meet up with you all for a BM weekend
