Hi all, just wanted to say i really enjoyed last Thursday night (5 January 2012), had a good laugh, and met some good people.
Hope to meet up again soon :)
All the best
Brat
Tell me Andy, Sarah why did i have it in my mind Walk The Dog was on Sunday , should'nt be a problem i will do my utmost to be there.
Think it must be that Brekki in Rye is the following weekend on Sunday, just me getting my knickers in a knot thats all. Concentrating on getting the bike back on the road for Rye.
Regards Dave
Funny that, i thought it was a Sunday as well ??? lol.
I'm hoping i can do this 'Walk the Dog', just to minor issues to sort first, a) i don't have a dog, so will have to nick one. And b) as discussed with other's the other night, don't know how i'm going to strap a dog to the back of the bike, hmmmm, will have to be a small dog, any suggestions ???
Regards
Brat
Well Brat what springs to mind is CARGO NET, they are quite stretchy so you may not be restricted to a small dog after all.
Like yourself i don't have a dog, unfortunately cos my bike not quite ready yet will have to come in my car, so i was wondering if nodding dog on parcel shelf qualifies???.
Looking forward to meeting you all again.
Regards Dave
I'm working at the weekend and I don't think I could run my CBT students down to the coast, Hopefully I'll catch you all again at the next meet in the South East.
lol u guys!! nic to see bit of chat going on!
Walk the dog? no dog? kids will do too!
It will be fun rain or shine an good fer ya as well.
We will visit campsite I got in mind for early this year en route.
May be a little muddy.....
Dave, Brat no idea why you thought Sunday! Good to see you're both planning on coming tho. Don't worry about the lack of dogs - out of the four of us going only one owns dogs! But should be a good laugh walking the route andy has planned. Ragnar - shame you can't make this one, but look forward to seeing you at the next meet.
Like i said Sarah " i must've got my knickers in a knot" somewhere along the line regarding the day
Its me age don't you know
Looking forward to seeing you all again
Regards Dave
Was a great day out today...walk was tiring but the views worth every ache I now have!
Dogs are silent and in their beds...
I too am silent and in my bed lol...phew knackered!
Thanks to those that arrived for the event and no excuses next time those that didnt!
Fish n chips were lush and we were all well ready for emm...
To those thst havnt visited Folkestone recently..its undergoing great change and actually is looking modern, smart and fashionable. Well worth a visit for a wander, the street market was busy and there is hardly an empty shop anywhere. Lots of bars n cafes sprung up. all very chic now..
We are planning a summer camp there so do come along. andy
Dave, Brat where were you? Missed you both. Was a great, if tiring walk and fish and chips afterwards were lush. Even managed a rhubarb crumble! Hope to see you both at the Rye run on Sunday 22nd.
Hello Sarah my apologies for non appearance at Walk The Dog, my car battery died over night in that frost we had, i did eventually get car going, unfortunately it was quite late into the morning. I was really disappointed having to miss this meet.
Now just to put the lid on things i've spent allday getting my bike back together only to discover looks as though the ignition control unit has stopped working, won't start. Got to do more checks to confirm, so at this time Rye looking doubtful, i'm not a happy bunny right now, if it is ICU thats mega money.
Will keep you posted.
Once again apologies for missing Walk The Dog
Regards Dave
Oh dear Dave, hmmm does sound ominous, hang on i'll get the 'loan bike round fer ya'.
Honda PC 50 ok for you?
let me know if I can help in any way mate.
Repeat posting for those who not read start of thread.
Hi all
It seems to me that there is a lot of members and therefore social activity around the midlands, and although I love to meet up with those lovely folk there it seems to me something needs to happen down South too!
The membership does seem to be biased to the midlands?
Maybe stuff does happen locally to me an I just need glasses?
So if you within easy riding of Ashford/Maidstone/Canterbury area would you be interested in a weekly/monthly venue where we all meet up for drinkies et et?
I happy to organise some runs out / camps et in the better weather and based in the SE perhaps we could offer hospitality to those' way up country' wanting to travel to Europe via Dover even.
any thoughts peeps?
Andy
Hi Andy thanks for your offer, i sure will take you up on it if the need arises. although have'nt confirmed ICU knackered i've found one on E bay (used) for around £220 incl p&p. New they are nudging £1000, think i might get the one from E bay anyway.
WOW a Honda PC 50 thats what i've always aspired to, i'm finding it difficult to contain my excitement.
How about a fortnightly meet where we meet at a central location Ashford/Maidstone, then 2 weeks later a different location, then back to Ashford/Maidstone, then another location 2 weeks later, try and get a good number of locations, over here into East Sussex aswell. Anyone who needs a roof over there head for the night (if they've travelled quite a distance) are more than welcome to kip at my place not a problem. Just a thought thats all.
Regards Dave
lol dave @PC50 a real moped lol
Anyways, why are u condeming the ecu? Usually the most reliable bit of the system, far more likely to be a sensor or wiring failure of some sort. Obv they CAN and do fail but I would thouroughly check out rest of system before spending £s on repl ecu which U dnt even really know works!
Not condeming ICU just yet gonna do more checks yet, have done continuity checks on wiring, all good, two of dash lights controlled by ICU not working (bulbs okay) + very weak spark. According to Haynes Comic ICU is one of the things which causes these symptoms, still got more checks to do, then will make decision. Original fault was Pick up coil went open circuit, no spark at all. I know this because i stuck my pinkie up the plug lead no jip.
By the way i went passed Cafe On The Quay this afternoon it was closed, came back passed it around 6.30 ish lights on inside. I could ask my eldest son if he could enquire if they are open yet, he works just around the corner from the cafe?
