Ignorant f%&kers who sit in the right hand lane when you're late for work. You'd think that coming up behind him at well over the speed limit, flashing the HID main beam would be enough to tell him to move over, but noooo.
Everyone else on Leeds' inner ring road moved over and indeed were thanked by a little wave from me. But not this to£^er. He sits there, travelling at 0.0125mph more than the vehicles in the left hand lane.
A couple more flashes of the main beam and all it makes him do is flick his mirror down!! Aaaaarrrggghhhhhh!!!!!!
BAS!$RD!!!! IGNORANT T&%TING BA!$£RD!!
So the next gap I see in the left hand lane and I nip up his inside.
Then whilst alongside him, I swerve violently over to the right, causing him to swerve away from me, lose control and spin into the barriers in the central reservation. Huge crash and his car explodes in a huge ball of flames with him still inside it. I offer an evil smile.
(I may have merely fantasised about the last bit).
got to be honest geoff, if someone was flashing there lights for me to move ...i sooooooo wouldnt....as to me thats one of the worse things someone can do to me, makes my blood boil
Not sure in what manner Geoff was travelling so can't comment on that but there is a difference in using a single flash of the headlight to alert road users to your presence and/or intention to overtake as mentioned in the motorcycle roadcraft book and flashing your lights repeatedly in an aggressive fashion.
The latter would get my back up as well but there are a lot of ignorant road users out there and if people were just a little more aware and courteous on the roads, traffic would flow so much better.

*travelling at 0.0125mph more than the vehicles in the left hand lane*
Sounds like a truck overtaking yet another truck
I had a similar incident but the other drivers floor pan buckled, tearing off his testacles and sending them under his back wheels just as he was hitting the barriers and impaling his forehead on the rear view mirror. Unfortunately the car didn't explode, just burned slowly and the fire engines couldn't get through the rest of the traffic. I tried the door handle but it was getting too warm so had to leave him to it, a real shame!
to me, and its only how i feel, even one flash of lights to ask me to move would see the red mist, but i am normally travelling at spped with traffic, but never do i flash my lights, but each to there own.

I always flash my lights accompanied by the raised finger signal in their rear view (curteously signalling them to move to the left of course) and if they still don't move over I post on the random rant thread!
In those circumstances I use the technique of German drivers on autobahns - keep the indicator announcing your intention to overtake on continuously. Then flash the lights.

You know what they say Ian, the quiet ones are the worst! I used to drive 30k per year for over 10 years and did some fantastic manouvres to get the to**ers to move over whilst staring into the whites of their eyes lol In some countries it's illegal to sit in the outside lane, even at high speed. It's used purely for an overtake then you must move back over immediately or it's a spot fine
i really cant believe you guys flash your lights to get people to move over, i find it a aggreessive attitude, hand on heart i have never done it, i am surprised.....but its just how i ride, each to there own.Plus flashing people only angers them, and could make them panic or stamp there foot on the brakes which could cause you to brake suddenly, make the person behind you panic...a bad idea....IMO, i know people may jump on my back re my comments but its how i feel, if i thought LC was on the way to me and she said some bloke was flashing her to get out of the way.....i would think the ***** ******* *************
Hi, I would like to jump in on this rant, I also do a lot of driving in my job - easily 50k miles per year. If drivers just obeyed the highway code things would be alot easier. middle lane and lane 3 huggers make me mad. Its not that difficult to indicate left and move back to the correct lane when able.
Middle lane huggers cause more hold ups than a little - and dont get me on to bloody lorries overtaking on hills LOL
Sorry to butt in but thought I would say hi
