to my mind any profit if any should just go into a fund whereby in view of continually rising costs for venues entertainment etc the ticket prices can be kept at an affordable amount for most people thus encouraging people to come along to future events
as it stands £10 for a weekends camping AND entertainment is flipping cheap in my book!!!!!!! you only have to look at some other events (non BM) to see that some get charged £10 per person per night for camping!
Everyone knows I don't go to rallies but I admire those who are organising this one, it can't be easy and doesn't help morale when this sort of question is asked of the organisers.
Can't ya just appreciate that there are fellow members who are going the extra mile to put on a rally?
Make the most of it cos the way things are going (insurance and other related costs in organising one) biker rallies will be a thing of the past.
WELL SAID BJ!!!
the thought of profit didnt even enter my head - £10 for a whole weekend - sounds more than a good deal for me.
the amount of effort people are putting in deserves recognition from us all,and i for one, applaud everyone who have given their valuable time to make the weekend a success!!
maybe this is an instance of someone judging others by their own low standards??
I didn't attack any organisers about their effort, but it seems a lot of people are uncomfortable about providing a reply and have a snide comment back at me re the car thing.
People should read my post properly (most haven't got the intelligence to do so it seems on here), and not just come back with personal attacks !!
Jackie, where did I attack your motives or integrity????
Of course you should be re imbursed for any money, phones calls etc that you lay out, that is without question It also shows to me that some people on here haven't got a clue, re the comment about the slaves?? Like any other club, whether it be a MC or MCC they have to by law have the books inspected by the public once per year.
I still have to hear a simple reply to the original question other than the vague "it will be used to fund other events"
Not sure why we have to explain ourselves to you but if it shuts you up i will.
A more in depth reply is all monies have been entered into an account that was set up soley for the rally. As a book keeper for a living i'm pretty sure i'm savvy with regards to business and profit and loss. This was done deliberately in case somebody thought we were attempting to become millionaires by asking for the extortinate fee of £10 a ticket. I will be happy to show anybody who asks, the books once the rally is over and all expenditure has been paid out. Any decision on any profit made will be made by the people who have put hundreds of hours of their own time, effort and money into organising the event.
As for being uncomfortable about answering the question, its more of a case of why should i need to justify our actions to you.
We are not a MC or MCC we are a group of people who have the same interest in bikes etc who are trying their level best to organise events for as many folk to enjoy and afford as possible.
And just for the record myself, JP, Vanessa and even Matt have purchased a ticket and paid for our own tshirts.
and i, for one, am looking forward to reaping the benefits of all your efforts by having a fantabulous time!!
so i shall say a huuuuuuge THANK YOU now whilst i still have the ability of speech!! xx
Morning !!
I too have a question, although it may not be as controversial as Shads, .. . I hope
Why the need or requirement for 'registration' ?? .. makes it sound like we is back at school !!
I've, as many others must have, been to many events both large and small and never heard of 'signing in' at em .. .. ..
Poxy HOG rallys excepted .. .. but I've never been to one of them anyway ................
John, when you order yer new bike, get it delivered straight to here. It'll save you loads of time an expense of fitting all them bits that dont work properly .. .. .. ..

This
is going to be a great first rally for BikerMatch and you won't want to
miss it. Sunshine ordered along with a great weekend's entertainment.
You will be able to register on site from 10AM on the Friday so get there nice and early to start enjoying your weekend!
GT, you wanted me to dress as a headmistress! Make your mind up lad!
Oil and filters for an FXDC 2007 fit in your paniers, with accompanying spanners? (and a primary case gasket, real one, not cheap flimsy rubbish one) Thanks mate lol
Even if they were making a profit, isn't it like anything, if you want to go, you pay, you go, and you enjoy yourself with anyone else. If you don't want to pay, then don't pay, don't go, stop frikkin moaning and bog off somewhere else! How much profit is there likely to be from a tenner a head for 2 nights camping on it's own, never mind everything else that's going on?? Seems simple to me. Applause to all the organisers, buy yourselves a half a pint to share with the leftover money . I'll make it up for a whole one if you want!
Can we please get back to the intial topic of the thread.
This is BM's first ever rally and everyone is looking forward to it, (that's why they have bought a ticket), so please let's not have any more negative stuff on this thread.
Thanks
