May i chip in?
I don't personally think that giving any money to a particular charity is a really good idea, mainly because the profits may not be very considerable and i personally think any profits would be better suited to help members on BM that may need assistance with necessary help and any other ventures the organisers deemed fit for the purpose.I could well understand the line of questioning if we were being asked to pay an exorbitant (did i spell that right?) sum of money but £10 for a weekend, as has already been said, is fantastic value for money, especially when you consider all the involvement by the organisers, the music and food laid on not to mention all the unpaid labour involved and if that wasn't enough we get to see our very own MAN-D(please slap me)!Which, so i have been informed is in itself priceless! So i think a round of applause and thanks for those that are putting themselves out to make a memorable event for all of those participating!!
I am looking forward to this rally, as is everyone it seems. This is my 1st BM rally and I am like a kid waiting for christmas. I haven't got the equivalent of an advent calender, but thats a thought especially with a choci for each day!!
BL is right in saying lets keep on track and in the spirit of the event.
I could say more re: profit but I can't see how there would be any.
I would pay double and be happy
The guys and gals have worked hard for us and I fully appreciate their efforts
So will see all you peolpe at KISS, I look forward to it more than you will ever know!
So as the guys and gals say "get your tickets" don't hang about dillying or dallying!
Personal appearance in the mankini Tony??....Soooo glad I got my ticket.
Many thanks to our friends in the Midlands for organising what is going to be a great Rally.....See you all at K.I.S.S
Can't believe what i have just been reading regarding the rallies, i have been to many rallies in the country and aboard, all rallies have a different ways :
some rallys book people in this is so they can judge the bike in secret for a prize givening, also if any bike gets damaged on site they know who to contact straight away and then there if someone acting a pratt ! and has to be reported due to being irresposible ! you always no there of the bike even if you dont know the person !
As to do with the fee £10 is very cheap these days you cant get any normally under £15 its now getting very expsensive !
Plus what they do with the money is up to the people in charge i personly i would give quarter to charity and the rest keep for next years rally so it can be made it bigger and better but that up to the people who run the rally and spend mostley 150 days scratching there heads trying to plan the best weekend ever!
All i can say no matter how many people turn up, if it rains or the sun shines,or if things go right or wrong, keep smiling laugh and enjoy cos theres always someone else worst of than you
Ride Hard Ride Safe !
Be There or Be Square !
lol lol
Thanks for that suneydee. We are working hard to try and make it so everyone has a good time and as stress-free a weekend as possible. We cant guarantee the sunshine, but we can make sure BJ doesn't sing until then just to reduce the risk of rain!
Still got tickets available for those of you worried their last minute decision might be too late, and there's still time to order your t-shirt if you want one. Please PM me with any queries if you're in doubt about anything.
Anyone wanting a meal at the pub Friday or Saturday night please PM Brummie Jackie who is keeping a list to do a block booking for us.
SD is spot on. From experience there's a hell of a lot of work that goes into organising this type of event and too often people with little or no experience of event organising are quick to either criticise or raise stupid questions. What happens with any surplus funds is a decision to be made when the organisors know if there is any surplus cash to worry about, which at the cover price for this weekend is probably unlikely. Personally I would say keep it in the bank and use it to part fund Kiss 2 and make it bigger next year. Having only come back to biking this year after several years break, and this being my first rally for a long time I can't wait for it to happen and look forward to meeting everyone who's ready to party. I sincerely hope there won't be any questions raised at the event with regards to distribution of any profits. Remember, the organisers are there to have a good weekend too, and not spend the whole time working.
On a lighter note will the next rally be known as Kiss 2, then the third rally be heavy petting, then.....well you get the idea; lol. By year 10 we'll have an orgy; lol. Just a thought.
