Cheryl if there is a day that you don't feel up to ride yourself you can do what Stutts says and stay in the digs or jump on the back of someone.

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately I can't get my boot on because of swelling. Unless I can find a boot to fit I don't think it's possible to go. I'm going out this weekend round the stores but of course it means I have to buy a new pair of boots I don't want for just one boot!

I then have to get to our destination. I haven't ridden since October either!

Do want to go though!

Cheryl we are using the motorway to get to Portsmouth and we was going to use the motorway from Bilbao to where we are staying in France so that should mean top gear cruising most of the way.
From your place to Clackets is only 30 minutes where you can have a break, Clackets to Portsmouth about 90 minutes with very little time for a stop.
From Bilbao to the digs is just over two hours and we dock at 1ish and have all afternoon to cover it. so no rush

I've just had a silly thought (I get them often).

If one day we don't mind clocking up a few miles (about 500) we could take a little ride over to Andorra for a coffee and some grub.

andorra is it south of spain

It borders the South of France and northern Spain.
It looks like one road in from France that goes though Andorra and out into Spain and the capital is the highest in europe.
It would be a good days riding and the road in from France looks like its got one or two twists on it.
