yea i'll ride it on ur bike tho, lol. If i take mine round, im guarenteed to either ditch it or ride so slow that people laugh. haha. Ill be taking my laptop by the way, so i'll always have autoroute available for europe. Just means stopping to check it etc. I'm thinking of getting the Zumo 550 from garmin, but my tank bag will stop me from viewing it anyhow so not sure if i should bother

Matt, the mounts are pretty good and you can attach them several ways. The really good thing about the Garmin mounts is they are actually made by RAM so you can get extra bits very cheaply if necessary. www.ram-mount-uk.com

ok the standard fittings go onto the clutch cylinder, whereas in the foto i showed earlier was a customised one that goes into the stearing head. I don't 'do' custom lol. But - if using the clutch cylinder, it would seem that the petrol tank would get in the way. So now im confused again as what to do, and i wanna buy one soon.

The Millau Bridge
Italy (no-where specific - Cassie's choice)
Parc Asterix (my choice lol)

Will let you know more when we can think of them.

Well ive ordered by Zumo 550. The £ is so weak that it was worth the extra postage costs to get it from the UK :-)

Matt The standard fittings include a bar with a RAM ball pointing upwards, which replaces the rear bracket that holds the clutch assembly to the bar. Then a short RAM mount is fitted above this with the mount for the Zumo itself above that. Unsure how this would interfere with the tank, but then again I don't have a Blackbird. However, I do know a man who does and who also not only has the custom headstock mount for a GPS (another Garmin but not a Zumo), but also knows the company that manufacture them! His name is Alastair MacFarlane and is the owner and tour manager of MCI Tours. If you email him (they have a website) he should be able to help you. A word of warning though, he may try and convince you to go on one of their tours lol!! Although saying that, they do organise self-guided tours for people, so may be able to offer you some advice generally about your trip and maybe even help organise it for you (for a few quid).

Yea ive seen them, the company wants 45 squids, plus postage etc for one. Its only a bolt with a ball on! lol. I cant wait to get my zumo, but i dont know how to wire it up (Not directly to battery, needs to cut out with ignition)

lol, give me someone elses bike and ill catch anyone up. I aint insured fully comp so taking no risks. If anyone wants a GPS, I've found the cheapest place for the Zumo 550. http://www.handtec.co.uk It links using bluetooth to your phone, and any bluetooth headset. The buttons are all on the left too for easy operation. It reads streetnames and not just "Turn left at next junction" etc. Looks like the best available, and not too expensive either. What does everyone think about getting bluetooth headsets to talk to each other? Only about 100 quid each

Don't forget, bluetooth only works to a range of about 10 metres!!
