as long as pillies dont EXPECT a free ride
That's why I ask for pillion rides, and probably why I don't get offered, cos I can't afford the dosh for public transport which means I can't afford to pay anyone for the lift.
So best count me out.
Think certain circumstances, friends step in Kwak ... and offer a pilly or a lift ... but out of kindness/friendship not out of expectancy.
I dont think there are many that would begrudge a lift to people in certain circumstances ... a couple of times Iv not been able to afford to go somewhere, but people have stepped in and offered .lifts ... and was much appreciated :)
As an ex 1%er, I may be a little old school, but it seems to have been assumed, that if someone has bought a bike, insured it & taxed it, they can obviously afford to, go miles out of their way & pay ALL the expenses eh ? ....ahaha .... I think there's some confusion about the word "biker" on this site, just an observation, but they seem to be few & far between. No offense meant.
FT I know what you mean if you are going out of your way for somebody you don't know then yes some payment should be made, but if I'm going somewhere and it's on route or it's helping out a mate and even someone I don't know who is strands on the side of the road then it's mates rates
The whole reason i have sorted a central meeting point for the Hobbits is so that nobody has to go out of there way to pick up a pilly when they have offered to give one ...............

If you are refering to me, I never ASSUME anything and don't expect anyone to go out of their way.
I request a lift to a specific event and if someone offers I accept. Surely they wouldn't offer if it was out of their way or they couldn't afford to go the extra miles?
If I could afford to help out with petrol costs I most certainly would but then I'd probably be able to afford to run a bike and take meself.
Being stuck at home 24/7 I'm just glad to get out and very much appreciate the help I get.
