This will be my first rally and I am looking forward to it. Waking up in a tent with the smell of bacon butties in the air is my idea heaven , as for the music I have found a few drinks can tend to help me enjoy most things . I look forward to seeing you all there.
(not an expert on diplomacy)
but wouldn`t it have been easier to just say
"no"
to the initial question?
as for each person having the same reasons for rallys?
not sure thats possible never mind actual,
i do tend to agree with geoff,
the nicest part (in my tiny opinion)(kinda experience based i hope)
of riding bikes/traveling/rallys
is the chat, companionship, and shared experience,
spent enough nights (and days) under canvas (well in the 1000`s)
to feel confident in saying, hotels are definatly nice, but waking up to a nice view with nice folk, is better.
Giving "no" as am answer would have probably been easier . But it would have been a less interesting conversation / argument . And its all more fun than the what made you sad and unhappy thread . A thread devoted to folk who live life as victims and spend there time whining and sympathy fishing .
The answer to your question is this and it isn't 'No'.
If you cannot find a rally with the afore mentioned luxuries then you will remain a non participant, you can't expect the majority of people to be able to afford the things you wish for, we have other commitments too but like to fit in now and again a bit of what we call, fun.
If that is not your idea of fun then why don't you set up an event yourself that includes all those things, I am sure there will be some that will take part.
Being cynical of others and critical of their outpourings is a little unsympathetic, some people need a shoulder now and again to cry on, however strong we are or think we are. If you don't need or appreciate that community spirit then either you are a totally hardened person or completely selfish and self satisfied.BM is, or ought to be, a community of people that share in not only the good times but the bad too.
So hope all this helped katoom, HD rallies...sorry...festivals were very well organised, hotels food etc but i stopped going to them when err attitudes seemed to change in the 90's dunno but dont think they'd be your thing either. There seems to be plenty weekends advertised on here involving accomodation.Europe and rhe USA(think blue skies dude) seem to have what you require really, not exactly a 4 hr blast down the fantastic road system we have tho. So will you be spotted at farmyard in the rave tent after checking in at helmsley, whatever you find enjoy.
should a sad/unhappy thread be fun?? lol. i join in the whinging & whining but still waiting for the sympathy to come flooding in!!
i dont feel the "rally debate" has been particularly interesting/stimulating - more akin to poking a snake with a stick and waiting for the hiss. maybe because it doesnt really matter whether one likes rallies or not! now, poking fun at the emotionally needy is sure to get more of a response!
I am not hardened just able to cope with what life throws. Even when on the hospital gonna die list I did not complain I just got on with it and what would you know here the f*** am I still alive . I have a normal job with no big fat cat wages . I get wet dirty tired and on occasion bloody like many others but I avoid complaining about it ,its my job my problem . Possibly as a result of this when on holiday I want for a change to not be in a field up to my tits in mud . I do lack commitments but that was a choice made many years ago after watching friends get married get a mortgage have children then complain about it all the time . If I had started this thread in a benign way it would have stopped after one post and there would be no debate . Better to hear peoples passion about something to understand their ideas . Break eggs make cake . And it has been fun and has sparked humour anger and agreement like a good forum should .
but only from the usual protagonists which makes it a tad dull!!
big hugs to you katooom for pulling through and for having muddy tits (is that a fetish????)
but passion regarding rallies is a bit of a stretch - i think the passion is more anti-katooom!!
I am not supporter of the scaremongering litter tray rag the MCN . But I have done a butlins thing once years ago . It was a single mum shagfest and highly recommended :-) As for it being a hate katooom thread . . . Well meh so be it I aint needy hate away if it makes anyone feel better . And muddy tits are not a fetish fantasy I would recommended outside pigs and hippo circles .
My Queen, he is no troll - just a guy with a penchant for the wind-up. So either humour him, or ignore him.
I cannot believe the peeps who rise to the bait.
I must take my hat off to Kat, best fisherman since Shads
No wonder the sad and unhappy thread is so busy .
With due respect Matt If someone comes onto someones thread and starts throwing there comments in they better get ready for some back ... I ignored this harmless satellite one from Boody ..."" I have been a member of this site for a few years now, and just recently ive stopped coming in to chat and reading the forums which i used to love, as the seem to have been hijacked by what can only be termed as complete and utter bulls****ters and wind up merchants,,,they seem to be several both male and female,, and i hope to god they dont try the wind up technique with me in person, it will be a day they will regrett!!""
This shows an obvious dislike of a few people here who in her view spoil it by having our own veiws .. Its a FORUM .. A public meeting place for open discussion. Are you going to ban everyone who boody disagrees with ?
Then we got from Boody... ""o ffsk !!! enough allready !!! "" Which in the context of the thread was a butt into a banter exchange ..On those grounds Boody made herself fair game for an in context reply .. If she has not the adult capability to shoulder a comeback then perhaps she should not wedge herself into adult conversations now matter how childish they seem to her . A contradiction yes .. but then so is a "biker" who is intolerant of a individual or different to theirs point veiw . I rest my case.
