Isle of Wight sounds fun Poshy...good idea fer summer, I will make enquiries...there a scooter rally there?
Dave, sounds like u doing ok wiv faultfinding...u say a pickup coil went first? But replaced it an still no go?
Are they know to fail on this bike then?
Well Andy me old fruit bat, guess what don't know what on earth i've done but the bleedin thing coughed into life this evening, runs like a 5 bob watch, smooth as a baby's bottom?????????????. just try and wipe the smile off my face now WHOOOO HOOO.
Have been in touch with my son about Cafe on the Quay for sunday, not heard back yet. Asked him if cafe shut is there anywhere else in Rye we could get a decent brekkie and brew, as soon as i hear from him i'll be in touch.
By the way my son rides a bike aswell.
Like the sound of the Isle of Wight
Regards Dave
thats brill news well done!!
tho I have to ask,is ya AA up to date lol.
jokin aside, I rekon musta been a bad sensor conn, they work on millivolts at low rpm...
I didnt even realise cafe closed during winter, so well done for spotting that...we have to see where we can find after meeting there as arranged.
Hi andy should know tomoro evening regarding Cafe on the Quay being open or shut, my son says where he works does breakfasts ( he's a chef in the ship inn) but they're a bit pricey compared to your average greasy spoon cafe. I may take a ride over Saturday and have a scout around to see what else is there, i believe there is a couple of places where the Thursday market is held ???
Funny you should say that Andy but i have got AA cover on my car anyway which covers anything i drive/ride. Could've been a dodgy connection, just seems strange that i had already pulled all connections apart and reconnected a couple of times previously + there was continuity through them with my multi meter ???, main thing is it goes.
Regards Dave
Dont U just hate it when somthing 'fixes' itself...
As you say main thing is it now runs fine.....just ya confidence will be low in it for a while.
As for a cafe the other one i use is def shut for winter, at the lifeboat stn.
Await your findings mate!
Evening Andy
I've heard back from my son, he says no info regarding Cafe on the Quay open or shut ??
Still got other places to check out on Saturday, give me a chance to give the bike a road test.
My son told me the brekkie where he works is £9 for full english consisting of : 2 Bacon, 2 Eggs how you like them, Sausage, Mushrooms, Beans, Fresh Tomato and Toast. He will be cooking brekkie on Sunday, bit pricier than your average cafe but the option is there.
Had a look at weather on teletext for Sunday does'nt look too bad at the moment.
Will keep you informed.
Regards Dave
Next pub night wil be back at the Gamecock nr Brands Hatch on Thursday 2nd February 7-30 onwards plse. Last pub night in Maidstone was a success, this one has no live music so we can chat! VJMC meet will be there too so plenty of bike chat to be done. Old fashioned noisy local pub wiv sky sports n a jukebox thing!
