We share the same path in life
Yet there is never enough room
I am here to be seen
But you never see me
You have always looked down on me
But i am no lower than you
You will take from me all that i desire
And blame me for my loss
As long as the sun shines
I will be there
Look for me
For i am coming.

Don't ask why i wrote that i just felt like doing so.....cheers.

How rude! I sent a PM to someone asking them about the location in one of their photos and they didn't reply. It costs nowt to be polite.

The standard of driving in this country is falling by an alarming rate in my opinion and nothing is being done about it.
It's not a speed issue it's everything else, in one five mile drive today i saw; cars parked on zig zag lines at a crossing, over taking on solid white lines, driving through a red light, dozens of turning cars and vans with no indication, reversing over 50 meters backwards on a one way street, driving the wrong way round a large mini roundabout, and countless cars seriously cutting corners.
On top of this many many people still drive with a mobile phone in their hand and women are still doing their hair and make up while driving.

This year while riding my bike there will come a point where i shall assault a motorist because they didn't see me or stop at a mini roundabout for me, or that they didn't like me filtering while they are sat in a tin box going no where.
When i do this selfless act i will do it for the people who have had an indecent and cant fight back or would like to but are just to nice to do so......

The argument for cyclists needing number plates!

I was sat at a red light in the right turn filter lane, minding my own business. Elbows resting on the steering wheel as the lights had only just changed whilst I was approaching them and they take a while to turn back to green. Humming a little ditty to myself, if you are interested it was David Bowies' Ashes to Ashes.

Then I heard the distinctive sound of someone spitting. A cyclist had come alongside me, on my offside, and attempted to spit in my face for no reason what so ever. I hadn't passed him, so there was no way he could accuse me of passing to close or cutting him up. I wasn't parked in the green box that is for cycles at lights. There was nothing that I had done that could account for it. He then proceeded to cycle through a red light and straight on. So he didnt even want the Right turn lane!

The police say, because he couldn't be identified then there is nothing that they can do.

I never thought that someone doing something like that would have such a negative effect on me. I am so used to shrugging verbal/physical abuse off, you get it every day when you drive a bus but this is the worst I have ever been affected. It took me hours to get back to being myself. I was supposed to be going out last night, but couldn't face it. I still feel out of sorts if I think about it now, and its over 12 hours ago.

So that is my argument for cyclists needing to be licences and identifiable. If they can't stick to the rules of decent human behaviour and the rules of the road then they need to be identifiable.

If you run them over it's easy to identify them later

PML @ sd fraglette, that is disgusting behaviour, even if you did do something to annoy him. I agree entirely with you about registration for cyclists. I also think if they use the road they should pay towards the privilege like everyone else and every cyclist should have to get a CBT before they are allowed on public roads. There was a petition created by cyclists to get motorbikes off the road cos they polute the air that cyclists ride in, flaming cheek!!
