Hey BJ...Cheaper rooms please please pretty please....Premier Inns never have the £25 deal at the Shirley venue... still £63 no matter when you try to book. I used to have a company account there and have stayed at that venue dozens of times for work, but have tried asking them for deals all to no avail... As I am now retired from working it works out too costly for a single guy to book a room there...so if you do know of cheaper rooms anywhere then let me know please....don't mind sharing if I have to....especially if its with a single gal..wink wink..lol.... Still looking fwd to the night time get-together but have yet to source FD Costume....lol... Keep up the good work all...John
If you look at Premier Inn Shilrey and then go down the list, not sure whcih one but the one thats 2 miles away is alot cheaper.
If you can find somebody to share with also makes it cheaper :)
Only other thing i can suggest is your google b n bs near the pub postcode and see what comes up :)
HALLOWISTMAS the SEQUEL fancy dress party :)
Sat 29th Nov at the Red Lion in Shirley. DJ will help us boogie the night away and at £3 each its a bargain.
Kick off is 7.30 pm
Prize for best fancy dress.
Premier Inn Solihull North (Shirley) is just across the road and rooms are currently quite pricey but i am keeping an eye out for when the price drops :) There are two other Premier Inns local (Birmingham South and Solihull South) once this one is booked up.
Premier Inn charge extra for breakfast and it's quite pricey but there is a very good cafe which i am sure we can persuade to open for us Sunday morning almost next door.
MCN Live is also on this weekend at the NEC if you fancy combining the 2 :)
Any queries please contact Brummie Jackie or JPHarley
You MUST have your face on the event page for this but only do so if you are definitely going to make it - numbers limited to first 120. If you put yourself down and your plans change please, please remove yourself from the page to give someone else a chance
"No its not a real ale pub"
jp - as a font of local knowledge, can you tell me if there's a decent one nearby (i.e., in the B90/Shirley area)? I'm considering arriving a day early. If there are no real-ale pubs in the immediate vicinity, I may stop en route overnight rather than in the Brum area itself on the Friday.
Regards.

According to CAMRA's website, whatpub.com. The Red lion and The Saracens head across the road. both serve real ale. as do several other pubs within a mile of the venue.
