Booked The Teesdale Hotel Fri, Sat, Sun nights B&B. Should have a newer GS by then as I am trading in my current 12 year old GS. So looking forward to properly trying a newer version.
You'll have it run in by the time you get to Teesdale, Nige. Looking like the town's going to be full of bikers , we may have to split our rides into smaller groups.
Blood hell, this is getting BIG - I was only expecting half a dozen, must of whom wouldn't turn up. I'd better tell the pubs and cafes to stock up 😆
I was thinking along similar lines Izzy, I might mark up a few routes of various lengths in case folks want to do their own thing.
But if everyone want to come on a Keilder ride together it won't be a problem cos there are very few junctions and, usually, sod all traffic. It might be tricky at cafe stops though, by the time the last one gets served the first will be finished. Or on second helpings.
Not really a reply but suggest meeting up at Squires cafe for anyone travelling up north on M1/A1 This would be a nice start to the weekend as there are a few new faces, so what better way to start the weekend than a coffee, cake and a chat before riding up as a group. Google suggests about a 90 minute ride from Squires to Teesdale so thought about a midday meet and leave about 1-30
Looks like travelling from Lincoln the A57/A1 junction at Retford would be a good meeting point.. I'll be 90 miles into my journey so a coffee at McDonald's would be good....
According to Google its 50 minutes from Markham Moor to Squires so I guess leave MM just after 11 if we're to be at Squires for midday ..looks like I'm going to have to leave earlier than I thought 🙄
A few of us were planning on meeting up at Squires and riding up together but had thought to plan a more scenic route than just major roads. I guess we can swap plans over lunch! Looking forward to it!
