Forgot to say ... We went the week before last & the rd from Buxton to Bakewell was closed , had to use the Ashbourne rd for a bit

I know XXX is Buxton ... anyone else can update on that section of rd?

we went to Matlock on Thurs Shell, but came in from the other end (from Ashbourne) & went back from Bakewell via Hathersage & then Snake, but I didn't see any signs saying that the Bakwell to Buxton road was closed.

Unfortunately I've only just seen this, if I had known about it a few days ago I could have got further info.

However, what I can tell people is that there have been works undertaken at various locations along the A6 between Buxton and the A5270.

These works have been for rock stabilisation reasons and have involved installing new rock netting to Topley Pike and Ashwood Dale, amongst other things. The works notice (DF020) states that due to the works involved a full road closure is likely to be required.

The "estimated" completion date is 23rd of this month.

I'm afraid that's all I can tell people.

Well to be honest I did not think it would be an issue as I would have thought those who live in the area or work for the council so know all that is going on with the highways in the area would have mentioned if the roads were still closed !
