Hi peeps, just 4 sleeps to go before the ride down to mid wales There are a few of us running down from Preston on Friday we are setting off about 11 ish travelling down the A49 to Whitchurch and stopping off at the trucker/biker cafe at about 12.30 for some dinner, so will be there for about an hour and was wondering if anyone want to meet up there and run down with us??????? we are then running down to Oswestry onto A483 down to Welshpool then onto Newtown then turn right off the A483 to Davids wells this is the link copy and paste and see what anyone thinks and say ya or nay many thanks
Ok Here goes!
My route home from north is as follows; follow the A483 to Newtown, Go STAIGHT through Newtown and you hit the A489 which becomes the A470 at Caersws ( at the railway crossing) follow the A470 till you come to a roundabout, third exit for Llanidloes, Texaco Garage on the right, (I sugguest you fill up here for the following days ride out, be nice to all have full tanks and no messing about in the morning) From the garage next mini roundabout take the second exit through the town straight past the tudor type town hall, the road goes round to the right and then to the left, 100yds and you will see a left turn the B4518,just past that turning is a CO OP supermarket, last minute stock up as there are no shops in the village for fags etc! although Rhayader is only 3 miles from the campsite, Follow the B4518 all the way to Pant Y dwr. Be very careful on this road as there are some surprising bends and in places, gravel has washed onto the road!
the road you have sugguested from the A483 is a bloody mare!!! Trust me!! look out for the Yellow "BM" arrows from llanidloes and Rhayader, Safe trip and see you soon!
TDO - we're in the bunkhouse - probably arriving 8.30. Will it be worth dropng off the bikes/gear first then heading for the mid-wales pub or will that be too late - so stock up on beer and have a drink at the bunkhouse??
Slidy - we will be going through CM, there's a nice little cafe/coffee shop on the main road we could meet there for a coffee?
Big Al, I forgot the V Festival is on this weekend, so the A5 is out! But if the route you have in mind is going near Redditch... Can we do Henley Lane :)))))

@ big al, don't worry! most of the locals dont turn up at the pub till 10 30 anyway! and we have a tradition that we NEVER leave the pub on the same day as we got there! so no worries! Pm me and i'll put my landline number if you need a lift, I'll be on the wagon as working on friday so no worries!
Just a heads up! We have a 3 room tent that sleeps 9 with a communal area in the middle, I'll put that up on friday afternoon,
sort out amongst yourelves who wants it! then at least you wont have to lug a tent! Its up to you!!
And you can share the lugging of equipment as well!
also I'll bring a barbecue to save the lugg!
There will be 2 loos and safe clean drinking water on site.
YES YOU DID!!!! but it looks like any times are subject to change!!!! 3 groups i think at 15 minute intervals so just join the last one badhead!!! or resist the temptation to get bladdered on friday and save it for saturday night when we have a late start on sunday!
