Shadz' car was found and the police arrested 4 lads (don't know where the 4th one came from, there were only 3 at the time) unfortunately the car was used and abused by the thieves then finally killed off by the police as they moved in to stop the car. At least no innocent bystander got hurt while the thieves were trying to avoid capture.
I don't know if Shadz' Navy base pass was still in the car, hopefully it was, don't want that in the wrong hands. Yes, Shadz told me that as it wasn't his fault the pass 'went missing' he will be ok and won't be fined.
He's at the police station looking at videos of rogues to see if he can identify them. I hope he can.

I had to buy another van when I had a perfectly good one. This is down to the London emission zone regs. for January 2012.
This is due to the efforts of Ken Livingstone and then Boris Johnson bringing the emmissions of certain vehicles into line with EU regs. Originally it was for larger lorries, but next year smaller diesels vans around 2-0 litre and over 10 years old. The area it covers is quite large, it is somewhere between the North and South circular roads and the M25. Ant one with a vehicle that does not comply, will have to pay £100 per day to drive in the zone. If you fail to pay the charge there is a fine of £400 for each time you are caught. This includes all weekends and bank holidays.
My old Vito was one year too old, but the van was mechanically very sound and always had good emission results on the MOT. I have a friend with an identical van but one year newer and he will be OK. Basically I had to sell my van to someone who would never use it in London. I managed to do that but probably lost more than £1000 off the value. There were no compensations offered for losses. The only thing they said was that the Major of London had negotiated discounts of approx. 10% from a number of main dealers. Well you may have seen the price of new vans. Mine old van was a dual liner and they start at around 15K plus 20% VAT. Hence I had to buy a used van. Luckily I had a little bit stashed in anticipation, but what about the self employed small business sole traders who are already finding things tight. This could be the difference between floating and sinking. Plus it was all well timed for the 2nd of Jan after the expense of christmas and almost a 2 week shutdown of the building trade.

davidneale previous comment on the new emission zone. You can bypass this with a catalytic converter. Get the honeycomb & find a engineering shop to encase it. (preferably in stainless steel) But it really does not matter. This is all its about. Fit it in line with your existing ex system. Ken Livingston had a m8 & shares in making the cat converters that passed their regulations. Making money from us. Boris is no different. He has to pay himself & his m8's the enormous pay increase they gave themselves. However I have stopped driving my van as I will not give these people any more of my money in any way what so ever. I am a Londoner & I cycle everywhere. The only way we will win is to not use Not give them money which will bring them to their knees. & dont vote for Livingston. Over the past 20 years I have not voted for any of these creeps yet they still get in. Whats going on? UKIP.

ajp I am not sure if your post 4th from the top is a wind up or not! If it isn't then I thik you must be missing something or maybe taking the wrong approach in your PM's. You may be coming accoss as a preditor in your communications. I don't think insulting the members of this site is the right approach. BM is what you make it and for me it has worked out really good. I found a gorgeous woman and I wasn't even looking for a relationship, it just happened. I have a lot of new good people in my life who will give support when needed. You can't knock that.
Regarding nods, I don't think too much should be read into them.If you get one, it should not be taken as an offer but more as an acknowledgment. If you don't get any nods does it really matter.

It aint compulsory to reply to nods or messages, and I expect there are many reasons why some folk don't.
Some see it as rude but it could be that the sender didn't give them anything to reply to? If you mention your penis or the state of your sexual life then that could be the reason why they don't reply.
In the past I've had messages that consisted of a short sentence 'Hi, my name is .... see my profile' and similar ones, no conversation or any questions asked for me to respond to.
When I get a nod I assume that it's just that, a nod, I don't respond to them.
I've actually received messages and replied to them then been ignored by the sender. Now THAT makes me want to rant.
Update on Shadz' carjacking
Altho Shadz couldn't ID the thieves the police know who they are and even gave Shadz their names. I was shocked by that, that could encourage vigilante behaviour. One of the lads is on probation so he's going back to prison, and another of them is only 15 years old. I suspect drugs played a part in their behaviour as the police found evidence of drugs in the car boot.
The only thing the police could charge them for, re: Shadz' carjacking and threat of violence, was TWOC-ing. (Taking Without Consent)
The car is driveable but not in a good state. Altho the radio is still in the car the paperwork for it isn't and Shadz can't remember the code to gain access.

Sandi That is some good news but I can't understand why they will only be charged with TWOC, surely it was theft. The fact that they did it under knife point makes it armed robbery in my book.
Regarding to the radio code, that can be re-coded at any good auto sound system shop. Will he be getting the car checked out for any unseen damage, I think it will be worth it.

I'm not sure what difference there is in TWOC and theft.
They threatened to stab Shadz but weren't showing a knife at the time, but the reason they can't charge them with it is cos Shadz couldn't ID them 100%.
In fact Shadz ID'd someone who wasn't even involved, it's not as easy as we may think.
I mentioned having the car checked for unseen damage, Shadz is probably going to scrap the car once it gets him back to the base. The car can't reach above 70mph so at least he won't get done for speeding.

AJg..........................Everyone is entitled to their opinion, i only ask that you do not put all the women on this site into one barrel!! I am not on this site for dating, and so are a lot of other women. Ive had a bike since was 15 but always rode alone, none of my friends had bikes. I really appreciate BM for bringing me together with like minded people who i can ride with, and i class as genuine friends!
Ya can rant all you want, it is a rant thread after all, its just the way you come across i "suppose" offends some. Much respect to your mum, was because of people like her that this country won the war and became Great Britain. They are the unsung heroes sadly.
