George, That is my main worry, keeping the group together and not getting separated due to traffic lights etc. The original plan was to limit the numbers to 12 but hey ho
Although I have a Garmin, I haven't got to the stage or ability to set a planned route on such a device. I am doing a ride tomorrow to determine the final route. This week I will pm everyone on the event to get confirmation as to who is still coming. I will list out the route for people.
Hi David, Keeping a group of any size together is difficult. I am involved with another motorcycle group in Essex and we use the `marker system` which works well as it involves the people who are taking part by using them as markers during the ride. If you want me to e-mail you with an explanation just send a PM with your private e-mail.
Hope the ride went well. I have to do some jobs today as I went out playing yesterday.
Hi David, would have liked to have done this, as i have drove round all round London with my job but have never biked it. hope its a good day for you and the rest , keep another in mind for next year eh and would be up for the challenge. see you in sept.
Brummiepaul, If you do want to come I don't suppose one more will not hurt. It will be good to have another rider with some London knowledge
The ride went OK today and I have planned it on a Google map. There is another member Malcolmroger who is on the event. He is going to put it on his Garmin. The plan is that he will ride at the back just in case there are any stragglers.
Hi David, would have liked to join you all but unfortunatly i have too work that day, maybe another one next year if all goes well, anyway i hope you all have a good un and stay safe !!.
Hi David, Sorry to come in a bit late in the game but was'nt planning on being in London this week but hey ho. Just a thought but what about finishing up at the Ace Cafe for lots of reasons food, coffee. bit of a breather, bikes, etc etc just a thought. Wont make any promises i might not be able to keep but would like to try and get to this one if you still got space. Living in London and being a dispatch rider for erm um a very long time might be able to help out finding any lost souls lol. Have a greattttttttttt day guys. Watch out for the black cabs they really aint fussy lol. Gareth
Hi David, am I being blond or have I just missed it, have you put the planned route up, not that it matters, just being nosey, as I have got to go where Ray takes me lol , Linda
Andy, If you are riding over Tower bridge from the south, when you get to the north side of Tower bridge go left onto one way system, then keep right and follow the one way system all the way around until you will see the bridge in front of you and the Minories car park on the right. Enter the car park and ride through to the end, then up ramp on right to level one. The bike park is on that level. The post code is on the event page.
BE CAREFUL ON THE BRIDGE AND APPROACH ROAD. There is a strict 20 mph speed limit with hidden cameras. It cost me 3 points
Hi david thought i was ok for sunday got a phone call late last night 2 fellas won't be in so i've got to fill in sorry won't be able to make it,was looking forward to it as well.
David, i just checked out the post code on the events page with google maps, it doesn't match up with your directions!!!! If you put in E1 8LP it takes you well away from Tower Bridge to Stepney Way?? But i think i should ba able to find you by your directions.
Andy. Your correct; E1 8LP will take you to the wrong place.. Go to 'showmystreet.com' type in 'Minories Car Park' from that location go south, first left to Goodman's Yard Rd, first right to Mansell, go under the underpass and on your right will be the main entrance to the Minories Car Park (our meeting place)
Showmystreet.com in my humble opinion; is the best search program for finding out where you plan to go.. also it will allow you to see a view of the exact location. Try typing in your address, you will be amazed when you can see your house. Hope someone will find this helpful.. See you all Sunday.
If you type in google maps... "parking, 1 Shorter street, City of London Parking" It shows the correct car park and that same post code E1 8LP when you click on the bubble 'A'
. If you just type in E1 8LP you get somewhere completely different
