It looks as if we won't/will/possible have a hard standing bay for the bikes, however after Deb's opening comment last year of "You call this f***ing hard standing" it most likely won't make much difference. So bring a hardstand puck just in case
See the reply from Cumberland Campsite below: "We are looking to be very busy in the campsite that weekend so unfortunately we wont be able to reserve a hard stand pitch for you. However, we do have an open marquee directly next to the small field where those camping will be, which would be ideal to store your bikes. If not all the bikes fit in here we will be able to sort something out for you when you get here."
And I have just received this
"We have made a note in our booking diary to reserve a bay for your bikes. If we have high demand of campers requiring bays with electric hook ups we may need to use this bay but we will definitely be able to make room for the bikes in an area which is gravelled and within close proximity to those camping."
So that's all as clear as mud.
On a more positive note the on site bar/restaurant is open from 5 till 9... so you'll know where to find me.
Lindsey and I are splitting the trip up and stopping at Lauder Friday night. Our Saturday trip up will be via Callander, the Trossocks and onto the A82 from there. If anyone want to meet up let me know.
Otherwise sort yerselves out.
I'll send out another message to all attendees later in the week with my mobile number for any latecomers who have don't have it yet. If you want me to circulate your number too please send me a PM.
Hi, Sam,Martyn and I would like to meet up...either at the green welly or callender or somewhere along that road, we will be leaving from glasgow, so what are the times we are looking at.......not sure what anyone else is doing but green welly is probably the best meeting point for everyone, we just need a time.
Dizzy. We'll be leaving Lauder about 10, possibly meeting up with Peter first. Kinda daft you heading east only to go west so the Green Welly is possibly the best meeting up point. I expect we would be there about 1:00 to 2:00 but that would depend on traffic, weather and coffee stops. But that's what phones are for. It would be nice to do the Rannoch bit with you guys too.
Hi men,and ladies . I'll be doing mi usual . Twisty roads, pretty/rugged scenery plus Morrisons for cheap food and petrol. lets see Morrison Dumbarton 12:00 ish The Green Welly half one ish . Hi Steve , nice run up to Lauder on the A68 roller coaster. Lovely. Part of the world. I don't. Think I could get out of bed early enough to fly op the A7 and meet you . Shame coz the roads are brill thru the Borders . Tempted though.
