Many of us lady bikers have recently discussed this topic at some length..would be interesting to see the male point of view...some of us ladies have come to the conclusion that most male bikers would prefer a pillion partner than having a partner who own/ride a bike...
I personally think that whoever is ever with me would have the best of all worlds..I own and ride my own bike..I can ride his bike...I can take him pillion and I could go pillion on his bike! Often or not other male biker friends have said that because I ride a big bike they feel intimidated!!! I do not understand why a fella would feel threatened...
As with most things there's pros and cons. My ex-wife rode her own bike and generally we had very similar machines, a pair of BMW R100's at one stage and a pair of H.D. Sportsters at another, and it was nice to ride together, I felt proud of her rideing her own bike, not intimidated and we had twice as much space to carry camping gear! The me-riding -pillion thing wasn't an issue because I DO NOT ride pillion with anybody, male or female!
On the other hand, my present lady friend only rides pillion and that's great too, Its nice to have her snuggled against my back, we can talk as we're going along (just about) without forking out on expensive intercomes, we just have to be selective on packing the camping gear!

I'd love to take a Female pillion but I do worry that their life is in my hands though.
I don't feel threatened by a Female rider, I love to see Ladies on bikes and find it somewhat Sexy
A bike riding Lady is my Ideal Partner BUT I would worry when she is out on her bike as there are a lot of dangers out there!
And as for Ladies who don't ride but want to be pillion, good on them! once they get the Buzz they may get out and get a Bike, and that can't be a bad thing (except for the Dangers)!

I seriously enjoy going runs with new partner riding her own bike, she has ridden for a long time and it shows in her riding, thoughtful whether leading or following. My only problem will be sorted when I get a bigger bike, cos she left me waaaay behind on climb up Bridgnorth ring road to Ludlow turn her bike has ssooo much more roll-on torque than me little gixxer 400! Also, after KISS we can now sort out distribution of loads for rallies, probably next year now. I don't feel at all intimidated by her being on a bigger bike cos we have now( in 4 weeks) done about 1,500 miles together.
well i'v got no problem with a girl on a bike, i'd love to have a partner with a sports bike, but then again it's nice to have someone snuggled up against you on the pilly, on the other hand i'd pilly on the back of a lady on a big tourer but be warned i'd probley fall asleep as i usualy do on pillys
so between the 2 of you we all know lol.
Back on track I dont mind going pilly and I dont mind V riding my bike she rode it back to my house yesterday.
Well me ive ridden bikes since i was 8yrs old and thats why i dont do pillion.and because it means i get 2 race u guys lol.besides 5min on back of a bike im a nervous wreck.the only person i will eva risk my life with is me :)
I know, got me teatray under me,at top of icy slope, gonna be a wild ride(Wouldn't miss it for anything)
I would go on back of her bike, after riding together she doesn't stick her neck out with filtering or overtakes!
