I've maintained this viewpoint for most of my adult life Now finally a top "boffin" has endorsed it Leafing through my new issue of The Road © I found this article So for those who aren't MAG * members here it is "Japanese scientist, Dr Ryuta Kawashima, author of the Nintendo game says riding motorcycles is good for usThe Tokyo-based researcher has discovered riding a motorcycle every day might actually "enhance" brain functionThe study, conducted by Dr Kawashima at the University of Tokyo, demonstrated that riders between the ages of 40 & 50 enjoyed enhanced levels of cognitive functioning after riding their motorcycle daily to their workplace for a mere two monthsScientists believe that the extra concentration needed to operate a motorcycle can contribute to higher levels of general brain function.Experiments did NOT identify similar benefits from driving a car" I know it's only 1 study, so it's not definitive "proof" But it does show that there may be some validity to the claim that bikers are sharper and more aware of their surroundings © MAG bi-monthly free magazine * If you're NOT a member then you should be You owe it to yourself and all the other bikers you know to become a member and support the most active Rider's Rights organization in the UK & Brussels

I know it's only 1 study, so it's not definitive "proof" 
 
But it does show that there may be some validity to the claim that bikers are sharper and more aware of their surroundings

Just look for the number of bikers who are to blame in SMIDSY's...We've always got to be brain active to stay alive, so it must become part of 'brain training' awareness becomes 2nd nature. Having said that...Watch this....A definite ROFL moment http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNy7...oYE

Hahahahaha it's just as funny as the 1st time I saw it Red I commented then that the pilly rider baled after the initial impact Maybe he/she knew something we didn't But riding bikes on a regular basis, has I believe, helped to keep my youthful outlook on life If it improves overall brain functionality that's a bonus It definitely sharpens up and exercises the sphincter muscles

Just confirms what I have thought about myself and riding a motorcycle.... I can be tired, unmotivated or just cheesed off... as soon as I get off my bike... I feel full of life and energy and really switch on and feel like taking on the world. The brain has function on a bike and there is no room for error when you ride....

I agree.... Riding definitely keeps the mind sharp, gets the adrenalin going and generally lifts your spirits. I love it!

So going by that then.

1. Riding a bike shapens your brain

2. Driving a car means your not so sharp

3. So by deduction then, if you're someone like an MP or executive that gets driven about by a Chauffeur then does that make you a dumb then?!

4. So the conclusion is to get all MP's to ride motorcycles, no only with it sharpening their brains, but they may actually find they enjoy it and can see the positives for riding a bike and perhaps like the riding, the country can get back to moving forward again

So going by that then.
