I thought i'll start this early because it's earlier in the year.
I was thinking about meeting up at about 12 noon on the Friday 30th May at London Gateway Services on the M1 between Jct's 3 & 4 with one service area means it doesn't matter if coming from London heading north or from the M25 heading south.
I've two routes in mind.
1) Using the motorway taking about 2 hours and 130 miles.
2) A quick 15 minute blast up the M1 to jct, 9, on to the A5 to just passed Nuneaton, turning on to the A444 to Burton on Trent, then on to some un marked roads. Should take 3 hours and 120 miles
I also plan not to get us lost this time,
but may get us lost just for the fun of it.
Don't think any of the services are going to be convenient for everyone around the M25 ?.
Another suggestion to think about perhaps is those coming clockwise around the M25 meet at London Gateway, those coming anti clockwise meet at South Mimms. Then we could have a mass meet at Toddington Services at a set time, just a idea to throw in the pot ???.
I think it would be best to have just one meeting point, rather than have two meeting points so close together and another up the road for both groups to meet up.
With a two to three hours of riding ahead of us (depending on which route we take) I think most of us we want to get a move on and knowing we'll have to stop every 70 miles for petrol if someone on his V-Max.
It wouldn't be the same without you Stutts, with you there is doesn't matter how drunk I get, I can always hear my way back to my tent by your snoring.
I'll be hurt if you all didn't want to be counted in.
If folks can let me know on what sort of roads they would like to go it would help to work out a route (motorway just over 2 hours or A roads 3:1/2 hours), But please think of the folks coming up from the south coast, like Dave VM and Stutts who would have done 90 miles and 1:1/2 to 2 hours riding just to get to the services on the M25.
