From the "Telegraph". Motorcycles feature prominently.

I like the BSA M21 at the forefront of the photo best. Here's its predecessor. the M20.

Sadly, the Reliant Regal is missing.

I do remember that, Phil. It was a bit disappointing. There was also an leading article in the AA magazine, Drive, in the 1970s arguing against 16-year-olds riding sports mopeds, with a posed photo of a "speeding" Fizzy (Yamaha FS1-E) on the front cover. The feature, as Bike magazine was quick to point out, wasn't too well researched.
However, they may have modified their opinions regarding motorcyclists. Here's a quote from AA president Edmund King (MCN 12/11/2014, page 2); "The AA is fully behind the MCN ["Save Our Roads"] campaign. Our patrols on two wheels often report to us the treacherous state of roads, which we take up with local highway authorities."
