Hi folks, how does ABS work if you are mid-way around the roundabout with a bit of speed and someone in a car stops dead in front of you, without falling off the bike ? Just curious as this happened to me once coming onto a dual carriageway near to where i live.
The full explination would take a long time tonexplain but basicly it prevents wheel lock up. And therefore allows you to use all the grip you can find.
make sure you roll off the power and DO NOT pull in the clutch. As Stuie said ABS prevents the wheels from locking up. If the system detects that the wheel is about to lock up then the pressure is released slightly from that wheel allowing it to continue rotating. This prevents skidding and allows you to steer.
