Any bikers who are mechanically minded near Derby who want to lend a helping hand changing a head bearing on a ST1100. Never tried something this big before, parts arrives this morning so bracing myself to start. Bike can come to you obviously if preferred
I,ve just done mine on my st1100 and the fork seals. Its not a complicated job but as with the st1100 just a bit time consuming. No special tools required and plenty of "how to" vids on youtube so why not have a go yourself . As you strip it down lay the parts out so you know what the sequence is for rebuild and get some good grease. I take it your are reinstalling tapered needle bearings rather than the original ball bearing type.
yes was much easier than i thought... forks out real easy, bearing also out easy and back in carefully, 2.5 hours of steady got it done and tapered in and balls out. bike feels very light and a little weird now but ok
