Ride In to Rothley Station on the Great Central Railway, Leicestershire.
If all goes to plan Lockdown will be easing and we will effectively be in the old Tier 2 restrictions, ie. max 6 in a group and outside catering only. No limit on travel.
Of course, this may change so WATCH THIS SPACE!
Rothley Station has a cafe with an extensive outside area. Trains on this preserved steam railway will be running (again, subject to the Boris Plan) so a journey along the line can be undertaken - plan your timing accordingly!
Max group size of 6 Social distancing rules apply
see https://www.gcrailway.co.uk/station-facilities/rothley/
If everything opens up there are some good eating places and pubs locally and also one of the best chippies in the country in the village, Bradgate park is just minutes away and The Vic bikers pub just a short ride away.
Quote: If Gary brings his Beezer you'll be able to stand in the car park and compare bits that have fallen off! 🤣...
They only fall off 'cos they were never fitted correctly from the factory . . . honest . . . .it's not a case of me forgetting to tighten the bolts. Besides, if it still runs with the bits missing, were they really needed in the first place ?
PEAK AREA; Meeting in Bakewell Car Park (the one next to the Police Station, off the A6) @10am Route will be; Bakewell - Wirksworth - Duffield - Derby - Swarkestone - Charnwood Forest - Rothley
