whilst browsing for asian tattoos (ahem!.....no i was, really!) last night i clicked on a photo and that friggin (can i frig on here??) above mentioned program appeared.i immeadiately ripped out all the plugs n wires cos last year my whole pc got trashed by (probally) the same bar stewards using a 2008 title. ive done what i can to remove it (3 cans of kronenburg n a swift kick up the hard drive) but its still lurking. its cleverly changed the information in windows security panel to say that i should check for 'updates' or check by clicking 'recomendations' but i know damn well as soon as i do it will install itself and trash my pc again. they made a spelling mistake too so i know its a scam, bill gates can spell gurt proper! now-i aint no pc, whatever that annoying tv ad might try to tell me so does anyone know how to remove it............in durrbrain terms please!
Get RRT - http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Security-Related/RRT-Remove-Ristrictions-Tool.shtml
These things screw up your registry so you cant remove them and they keep coming back, RRT will fix that.
http://www.superantispyware.com/ This will get ride of the stuff.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html It will get rid off stuff before.
With these 3 programs i managed to fix mine when it got trashed by some asshole, who incidentally was being paid to put adverts on our computers by a british legal company.
malware's a bugger!i have window's live one care which has removed some shite inthe past but in one case i had to formatt the hard drive and reinstall window's to get ridof the sod ,itwas advertising spyware and jus generally spoilt browsing by continual advertising!!
you guys!!! you make it sound as easy as stripping down a cbx motor and then popping it all back together again before lunch! i will have a go at those techno interweb type thingys tomorrow and failing that-buy another effin pc and try to stop nosing at asian tattoos............actually, the bird with the tat is also a naughty asian porn star but i love the artwork on her back.
Good luck, those tools are easy to use, well easyish, just takle defaults. RRT is so good, that I donated to them to get full application, though basic had fixed problem. Licence was only 10 quid and it had saved me having to format hard disk and other nonsense.
There is another one thats good called hijack this, however it shows what processes are running, but some of these are obscure and best left to those who know, i dont include myself in that list.
BTW http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html its spybot you are getting.
as an IT professional - i can tell you that you should just stay away from untrusted sites. It really is as simple as that.
Fixing is harder than protecting!
there are a lot of things i should stay away from but its like licking the top of a pp3 9v battery................you know you shouldnt do it but you still go ahead and give it a lick! ..............hmmmmmmmm theres also a lot of things i shouldnt lick too n theyre 10000 km away but i still keep getting on that plane
