Hey folks
The amazing Pink Floyd tribute band Breathe are playing at our very own Hobbit HQ (Inn on the Green) in Friday 1st October. So if you fancy a nite of guitar play "David Gilmour style" this is the place to be.
I know it was really popular back in April when they played so let me know what you think and I will post it on events.

JP, I am not sure what you mean about the venue????I don't know what JP meant, but I can give you my take on it. The venue is expensive, too loud for its size, badly laid out, doesn't have enough parking, and is too far away. I'll probably go anyway though.
I will make it clear at 11.30 I was expected to pay £7.00 to see 20 mins of a band that are crap and not worth £4.00 for the full set. The venue over charge for all bands and the sound is poor as Gary said to load for the room. When we started to go there we payed max £5 for better sound and now thay are getting a few in the door thay are getting greedy so I don't think I will go. Shame as thay are a good band
Have to say i agree with JP was not impressed that at 11.30 i was asked for £7 entrance fee, considering that the doorman knows me by name and how often we have been there, so is aware that we are regulars who usually pay.
Shame cos we do have a great laugh there maybe a case of going and sitting outside all night people watching like last time lol
That's weird, I posted on this thread the other day to say count me in but it seems to have vamooshed!
I agree that £7 is too much on the door unless sound system, venue etc is almost at concert standard.
I will pay it though if Serendipity escorts me to the bar to ensure I am the next person served there.

Hi chaps, i've read some of the comments about the venue charging an entry after eleven when the bands nearly finished. But i think the reason might be that as the bar next door shuts at eleven ish, and the function room bar closes at twelve ish. This stops people just coming in from the bar and other pubs in the area just to get a couple more drinks in. I have known them not even allow anyone in after ten thirty, even if they'd offered to pay. As for the price in, a little steep at times but with a lack of venues for live bands in the area, its a little bit of a captive market. Anyway enough of all that, i might be there but not sure cus theres some classic racing on at Cadwell one weekend so think i'm off there. :-)
