Assen will be great, and the teams will get BSB funding no doubt but i think as yet it is only superbike and supersport that is listed, Croft is a great track , but noise limits and lack of amenaties?and also cant start engines till 12.00 sunday, has put bsb off.
this was what was said about Croft by BSB:
For all fans asking about Croft. It's disappointing not to have a round in the North East and we've always appreciated the great work organisations such as the NYRRSC put into racing. The simple fact is that Croft was offered a 2012 round but sadly for them they are working under extremely tough operating conditions, probably the most of any UK circuit with only 40 operational days use a year. BSB... accounts for three of those days and they made a decision that they need to maximise those 40 days use on a risk free basis I.e. basic track hire as opposed to the outlay of running a major promoted meeting. Also almost uniquely for them they have very little infrastructure on site to create additional revenue streams with no permanent catering facility for example.
Just as an aside - you can't start your engines till 12:00 at Oulton on the Sunday either!
I lived about 6 miles from the croft circuit and know for sure there was /is a nice issue with the place / any way assen bsb will be mint every one should ride over for the weekend and have a riot if any ones been to wsb they will know what im on about..lol.
how can assen form part of the British circuit (by definition!)?
i also believe crowds at the WSB round will be massively effected, as the Brits who head there in droves (and form huge proportion of the crowd) will maybe go to BSB instead!
if you are not happy about assen don't go. if they don't make enough profit they won't go there next year.i don't think the bsb should be raced in europe, it's a domestic series, keep it at home.
Well said xj....It's British Super Bikes, as someone said family run teams will prob get BSB funding to get over there, the fans certainly wont! Stick with the U.K circuits, could be BSB Dubai in 2014!
P.S Simon66 is organising a B.M meet up at Snetterton 300 circuit for the BSB weekend in May, if you're doing Snett get your name down on the event listing, see you there
